SOOO.....How've You All Been?

In case you were actually wondering about how "The Omen" was...it was good. I guess that was a while ago, huh? 18 months off is a pretty good break, lol.

The funny thing is - I never planned to stop blogging...I just quit. After seeing the movie and going out for drinks with Lynn, I just never blogged again. And it's one of those things - the longer you don't do it, the easier it is not to.

Here's a little catch-up in case anyone actually comes across this...

The store I worked for merged with Macy's (hereafter known as "The Devil"). I stayed for a whole year after the merger and then took my leave for MUCH greener pastures. I moved from women's shoes to menswear...a pretty big leap. Check your area for a Jos. A. Bank Clothiers (pronounced Joseph A Bank). That's ME now!

Anyway, this is just a toe back in the water...please let me know if anyone's out there!

The Omen and The Joy of Gay Sex

Well, I SHOULD be watching The Omen right now...

Lynn and I decided to go see the movie tonight on opening night and be all 666 about it. After work I ran home and then was going to meet her at the Landing at 7ish. When I showed up, I didn't see her, but I waited around a little while before I got in line. When I bought my ticket, the guy at the counter told me there were only 15 tickets left and it would be a full theater. No big deal...I've gotten used to that lately. I spotted Lynn in line behind me, though...and she was WAY more than 15 people back. I went outside and told her that the tickets were selling out and there was no way she was going to get a ticket. As I mentioned this, the guy in front of her in line turned around and said he wanted to buy my ticket. Unfortunately, he had no cash, and ATMs only give 20's. (lightbulb) I went back up to the counter and asked if I could exchange my 7:20 ticket for a 9:40 ticket and let the guy buy my ticket back. After a bunch of walkie-talkie business, the guy said that they had sold the theater within 5 seats and couldn't sell him my ticket. So, basically, I could have walked in and had a seat, but they wouldn't let that guy do the same. Sucks for him.

As I am typing this, Lynn is sitting behind me reading The Joy of Gay Sex...And looking through The Male Ideal...and Male Nude Now...and MondoHomo. Lots of good gay books. :) We all need to study up on everything once in a while. ;) We are just hanging out here until the next showing, so this blog is just kind of a time-waster. House is on...so that's good. I hope the movie is good tonight...I will let you all know how it is...and whether or not to waste your $10.

waste...
waste....
waste.....

OK...done now.

People! It's called The Breakup for a reason!

(Oops...that was a little bit of a spoiler, lol.)

So, I made it to work fine on Friday morning. (Even after my drunken blahg Friday morning.) It was a long day, but busy, so that's always good. Lynn and I got off around 6 and decided to go see The Breakup starring Jennifer Aniston, Vince Vaughn, and Chicago. :) Well, the movie didn't start till 7:40, so we decided to go see our friend Forray at work. Luckily, she works at Pepe's and they had raspberry margaritas for $2. After 2 of those for each of us, we realized we only had 10 minutes to get across to West Lafayette to the theater. We were a little late, but we were only going to miss the previews. I hate, though, walking into a dark theater and not being able to pick a seat, settle in, look around...it's my whole 'control my environment' thing, I think. The only place that there were 2 seats together was in the second to last row in the back and all the way over by the wall. To make everything better, the second we walked up the stairs to that section of seats, the lights went down and it was thisclose to pitch black in there. So, everyone that had been in the theater had been in the dark long enough for their eyes to adjust...and we just stood there like dipshits till our eyes adjusted enough to see and crawl over 25 people to the end of the row, lol.

I like the movie. I thought it was funny and romantic (in a weird sort of way) and very realistic about the subject of a breakup. (Ohh...another spoiler: they actually break up.) I will warn you that while Lynn and I liked the movie, the general (and loud) consensus of a couple dozen people around us was that is was (and I quote) "the worst movie I have ever seen. We should get our money back." I am not going to pretend to have the best taste in movies, but I can tell a bad one from a good one. It's a good movie.

After the movie, we headed over to Love Shack for dinner. It was super yummers. They have dozens of hot calzones to choose from and they are all made to order and awesome. While we were waiting for the food to be cooked, we took a look over the jukebox and found one of my all-time favorite songs ever..."Are You Jimmy Ray". We put in the money and chose some songs...earning an audible groan from the people behind the counter when "Jimmy Ray" came on. We were a bit out of place because we were both still dressed from work and everyone else in the restaurant was in trackies and tees, lol.

After dinner we headed to the Knickerbocker for a couple drinks with Holly and proceeded to nearly fall asleep on the bar, lol. I got home around 1:00 after being up and out since 7:00. LONG DAY!

Lynn and I were supposed to go to the strawberry festival this morning, but she never called me...so I have been schlepping around the house all day accomplishing nothing. Maybe I will motivate myself to do something tomorrow, who knows.

Well...

if I am going to blog, I should blog...i guess.

Thanks to the few of you that commented on me being back!

Just a quick run though of my day. I had the cabinet guy come to measure my kitchen because i am getting new cabinet...duh. He showed up about 9:00 and the installer at about 9:15. We went through the plan and all is good. (plus, a 52% discount...it helps to be cute AND knowledgable sometimes.) I had to work this evening, so I went in at 12:30 and we were so fucking busy it was ridiculous. I sold almost $2,000 in shoes today. ON A THURSDAY! Ridiculous, I told you.

After work, I was sure that a friend from high school's band was playing at the Knickerbocker...but we showed up and paid our $4 cover and then realized that they are playing tomorrow. So I proceeded to drink 5 stoli gimlets (in pint glasses.) For those of you not familiar with the gimlet, it is a cocktail containing 95% vodka and 5% lime juice. So, I had about 5 pints of vodka tonight...and I am still writing for you! WOOHOO!

I am, though, unforgivably drunk. and must sleep.

GOODNIGHT MY CHILLINS

I promise to be more sober next time I post...I promise I have things to talk about, lol...

By the way, this is a picture of TC on a mag cover. I looked just like this the last time I walked away from the Lancome counter. (Yeah, I looked a little too airbrushed.)

A Short French Lesson

Because I am a dork, I am watching my hero Alton Brown (I almost just wrote Ashton, ack) doing a show about kebabs. I love me som Good Eats, but I have to question his info sources on one thing. While explaining parts of a cow, he got to sirloin and said "something something blah blah blah the 'sir' of sirloin comes from the French, meaning under, which means it is from under the loin." (Obviously an exact quote.) Well, assuming he is referring to the French word 'sur', I am afraid he is gravely mistaken. Any good French fag (like me) will know what sur=on and sous=under. Bad Alton!

So um yeah

Hey guys. Remember me? I'm that big, bitchy faggot that you used to all read every day and then I disappeared on my birthday and never posted again. Well...I'm back :)

I would love to say that I went away to get a perspective on something or that I was envisioning a new direction for TragicDemise. Unfortunately, all I can tell you is that I stopped writing, and truly lived up to my alcoholic potential. You know how when you put something off, it gets easier and easier to keep putting it off? And once you have put it off for so long, it seems nearly impossible (or worthless) to do it at all? Well, I was thinking about coming back to the blog when Armi messaged me on MySpace with her cute little face saying she missed me on the blog. So...here I am.

So, let's go way back to where I left off. My birthday night was a BLAST! I got far too drunk (not a rare occurance) and got to spend the night with (almost) all of my best friends. I made it a strictly 'no gifts' event, so I got a lot of birthday cards. I love getting good cards...especially when they are so perfect, you know they spent more than 2 minutes at Osco to pick it up. I did get my birthday spankings...I am pretty sure I got more than 26, though, lol. Everyone took their turn, and I was still in pain the next day. (Not the sort of ass-pain I was looking forward to after my birthday, though.) Since I last wrote, we also celebrated Lynn and Holly and Robyn's birthdays. It's a good thing that we have full run of a great bar in downtown Lafayette, lol. So, we are all another year older now...Lynn 23, and Holly, Robyn, and I are all 26.

I guess I should show you what the girls got from me for their birthdays. Lynn got these BCBGirls 'Gaho' sandals in tan logo print. (The gold racing stripe is not as noticeable in person.) Of course, a week after Lynn got them, we got an even cuter pair of the same sandal, but in platinum linen. :( Maybe for Christmas, lol.

Holly fell in love with these Etienne Aigner 'Celt' peep-toe pumps in chocolate logo print. (See a pattern? lol) She actually got hers before her birthday, because she had planned her whole outfit around the shoes, lol. She had an unbelievable brown dress that was perfect for them.

You know...it's really hard to remember things that happened more than 5 drinks ago. I guess that's one good reason for me to start updating this thing daily, again, lol.

Nothing super exciting has happened...just regular life in Indiana. You know: rain, humidity, tornadoes, humidity, heat, tornadoes. Oh, did I mention that since we joined Eastern Daylight Time, the sun doesn't set until 9:30? It makes you feel very awkward to get ready to go out with the sun still up...and show up at the bar with the glow of the sun still on the horizon. 4th of July is still a month away...are we really supposed to wait until 11:00 for fireworks to start? I don't know about you, but I like to be 3 or 4 drinks into celebrating our independance by 11:00p.

Wanna see something interesting? This is my sitemeter graph of visitors over the past 12 months. Notice the huge spike in August? That was Jude Law naked pics. Now, look to the other end of the graph. April and May....See what happens when I don't write anything!? Since my last post, I have had almost 9,000 visitors! Ridiculous. My average visits per day is up more than 100 since my birthday, lol. Maybe you guys like it better when I don't write, lol. (I certainly hope not!) I am closing in on the 35,000 mark in the past 13 months...tres exciting!

Something else I found interesting: almost half of my visitors are from Europe now. Those silly Europeans... don't even know not to read something that isn't being updated. I had plans to put up a new Music of the Moment, but Insight (my hosting company) is being an ass-hat and I can't upload anything. :( I have a song I want...so we will have to see how long Insight decides to ass rape me. If anyone wants to host something for me for a couple days, let me know :) tragicdemise@gmail.com

I would love to get comments if you guys actually come back to read this. You know I love comments! :) Let me know you are still around! I just signed into GoogleReader and I have a few thousand posts to catch up on, but I will do my best!

Glad to be back...gimme love.

Happy Birthday! I'm Going Back to Bed

It's my effing birthday. Whoopdie-shit! Right now, it is 5:30 in the morning and I just rolled out of bed because I have to be at work at 6:45. Um, suck my ass.

No, really...I need it bad, lol

So, remember a couple weeks ago when it snowed on the day Spring started...and I said it would probably snow on my birthday. Right now, the temp is 56 degrees. We are forecasted to have severe thunderstorms turning to snow, with a low tonight of 30. WTF!?

Anyway - I have to get to work, so I will talk to all you cool kids later...

Don't forget (Lafayette people) - Knickerbocker tomorrow night after 10:00 :)
