The Omen and The Joy of Gay Sex

Well, I SHOULD be watching The Omen right now...

Lynn and I decided to go see the movie tonight on opening night and be all 666 about it. After work I ran home and then was going to meet her at the Landing at 7ish. When I showed up, I didn't see her, but I waited around a little while before I got in line. When I bought my ticket, the guy at the counter told me there were only 15 tickets left and it would be a full theater. No big deal...I've gotten used to that lately. I spotted Lynn in line behind me, though...and she was WAY more than 15 people back. I went outside and told her that the tickets were selling out and there was no way she was going to get a ticket. As I mentioned this, the guy in front of her in line turned around and said he wanted to buy my ticket. Unfortunately, he had no cash, and ATMs only give 20's. (lightbulb) I went back up to the counter and asked if I could exchange my 7:20 ticket for a 9:40 ticket and let the guy buy my ticket back. After a bunch of walkie-talkie business, the guy said that they had sold the theater within 5 seats and couldn't sell him my ticket. So, basically, I could have walked in and had a seat, but they wouldn't let that guy do the same. Sucks for him.

As I am typing this, Lynn is sitting behind me reading The Joy of Gay Sex...And looking through The Male Ideal...and Male Nude Now...and MondoHomo. Lots of good gay books. :) We all need to study up on everything once in a while. ;) We are just hanging out here until the next showing, so this blog is just kind of a time-waster. House is on...so that's good. I hope the movie is good tonight...I will let you all know how it is...and whether or not to waste your $10.

waste...
waste....
waste.....

OK...done now.

People! It's called The Breakup for a reason!

(Oops...that was a little bit of a spoiler, lol.)

So, I made it to work fine on Friday morning. (Even after my drunken blahg Friday morning.) It was a long day, but busy, so that's always good. Lynn and I got off around 6 and decided to go see The Breakup starring Jennifer Aniston, Vince Vaughn, and Chicago. :) Well, the movie didn't start till 7:40, so we decided to go see our friend Forray at work. Luckily, she works at Pepe's and they had raspberry margaritas for $2. After 2 of those for each of us, we realized we only had 10 minutes to get across to West Lafayette to the theater. We were a little late, but we were only going to miss the previews. I hate, though, walking into a dark theater and not being able to pick a seat, settle in, look around...it's my whole 'control my environment' thing, I think. The only place that there were 2 seats together was in the second to last row in the back and all the way over by the wall. To make everything better, the second we walked up the stairs to that section of seats, the lights went down and it was thisclose to pitch black in there. So, everyone that had been in the theater had been in the dark long enough for their eyes to adjust...and we just stood there like dipshits till our eyes adjusted enough to see and crawl over 25 people to the end of the row, lol.

I like the movie. I thought it was funny and romantic (in a weird sort of way) and very realistic about the subject of a breakup. (Ohh...another spoiler: they actually break up.) I will warn you that while Lynn and I liked the movie, the general (and loud) consensus of a couple dozen people around us was that is was (and I quote) "the worst movie I have ever seen. We should get our money back." I am not going to pretend to have the best taste in movies, but I can tell a bad one from a good one. It's a good movie.

After the movie, we headed over to Love Shack for dinner. It was super yummers. They have dozens of hot calzones to choose from and they are all made to order and awesome. While we were waiting for the food to be cooked, we took a look over the jukebox and found one of my all-time favorite songs ever..."Are You Jimmy Ray". We put in the money and chose some songs...earning an audible groan from the people behind the counter when "Jimmy Ray" came on. We were a bit out of place because we were both still dressed from work and everyone else in the restaurant was in trackies and tees, lol.

After dinner we headed to the Knickerbocker for a couple drinks with Holly and proceeded to nearly fall asleep on the bar, lol. I got home around 1:00 after being up and out since 7:00. LONG DAY!

Lynn and I were supposed to go to the strawberry festival this morning, but she never called me...so I have been schlepping around the house all day accomplishing nothing. Maybe I will motivate myself to do something tomorrow, who knows.

Well...

if I am going to blog, I should blog...i guess.

Thanks to the few of you that commented on me being back!

Just a quick run though of my day. I had the cabinet guy come to measure my kitchen because i am getting new cabinet...duh. He showed up about 9:00 and the installer at about 9:15. We went through the plan and all is good. (plus, a 52% discount...it helps to be cute AND knowledgable sometimes.) I had to work this evening, so I went in at 12:30 and we were so fucking busy it was ridiculous. I sold almost $2,000 in shoes today. ON A THURSDAY! Ridiculous, I told you.

After work, I was sure that a friend from high school's band was playing at the Knickerbocker...but we showed up and paid our $4 cover and then realized that they are playing tomorrow. So I proceeded to drink 5 stoli gimlets (in pint glasses.) For those of you not familiar with the gimlet, it is a cocktail containing 95% vodka and 5% lime juice. So, I had about 5 pints of vodka tonight...and I am still writing for you! WOOHOO!

I am, though, unforgivably drunk. and must sleep.

GOODNIGHT MY CHILLINS

I promise to be more sober next time I post...I promise I have things to talk about, lol...

By the way, this is a picture of TC on a mag cover. I looked just like this the last time I walked away from the Lancome counter. (Yeah, I looked a little too airbrushed.)
